Serenity Health Systems works with the
doctor and his staff when necessary to teach them
how to create treatment plans for their patient to
follow and how to document these plans to satisfy
insurance companies and Medicare.
There are three
types of musculoskeletal conditions in the average
healthcare office:
NON-COMPLICATED
CONDITION(S):
Patients whose condition(s) involve subluxations,
sprains, strains and muscle spasms.
These patients will receive solely MODALITY care.
The rehabilitation will be ordered and supervised
by the medical doctor or osteopathic physician and
be "low tech" in nature. These
modalities are provided and resolve only acute
pain syndromes.
* Approximately 2-4 week treatment regimen.
COMPLICATED
CONDITION(S):
Patients whose condition(s) involve subluxations,
muscle spasms and "possible" or
"suspected" disc and nerve involvement.
Also, treatment of the patients will start with
modalities.
They will be treated very conservatively with
"light" therapies and modalities during
the acute phase of care. Once they have stabilized
and the pain patterns are under control, they may
be referred to the Physical Therapist on staff to
initiate high tech rehabilitation.
* Approximately 4-8 week treatment regimen
followed by possible referral to chiropractic or
specialist.
COMPLICATED WITH
SYSTEM(S):
These patients present with muscle spasms, disc
and nerve involvement, but additionally at least
one other system of involvement. In order for a
patient to be categorized as complicated with
system(s), involvement it should be found and
documented as such that the system(s) could
possibly complicate the treatment being rendered
and/or the patient's return to health.
This patient's case requires medical intervention.
This patient should be treated conservatively with
"light" therapies and modalities during
the initial phase of care. They then should be
referred to the medical doctor for evaluation of
the system(s) involvement and for a referral and
any contraindications. The medical doctor will
manage the physical therapy being ordered and
provided to keep a close eye on the other
system(s) of involvement should any complications
arise for a referral back to the physical
therapist on your staff.
Approximately 8-16 week treatment regimen followed
by possible referral to chiropractic or
specialist.
